Fall 2023 Masterclasses

For the Love of Lymph

Lymphatic System Masterclass

Sept 23 @ 9:00 - 10:30 am

Online

Your lyphatic system is your first line of defense against disease and infection, yet it is still largely unknown or misunderstood. Unlike the circulatory system, the lyphatic system does not have a muscular pump to move fluid through it... our bodies rely on our movements to facilitate this.

Yoga, massage, and other movement modalities are ideal ways to bring attention and priority to this body system.

Join us Sept 23 live online as we explore what the lyphatic system is and understand how active & passive movements affect it.

Recording will be sent to all registrants.

Justice for Joints

Joints of the Musculoskeletal System

Friday October 13 @ 7:00 - 8:30 PM

When you walk across a room, do you notice the movement in your knee joints? Ankle joints? Hip joints? What about the movements that are happening in your spine or shoulders?

The truth is, all day long we move through this world and don't recognize the changes that are constantly occuring in our joints and how the tissues of the joints are responding to forces in order to keep us healthy and moving.

Join Gillian on October 13 for an evening online to explore the reasons that the joints don't crumble when we jump to the front of our mats in vinyasa practice, or why overhead extension of the arms requires movement in the joints of the spine. Understand why most of a spinal twist will happen in the cervical spine but most flexion happens in the thoracic.

With so much to explore, you will leave with a deepr understanding and appreciation for how you move through the world!

Recording will be sent to all registrants.

The Spine:
Column or Conduit?

Friday November 3 @ 7:00 - 8:30 PM

The spine is literally the "back bone" to your body. It facilitates movement, weight transfer, electrical impulses, and stability.

Understanding this structure and how it interacts with the rest of the body can give us a deeper understanding of the respiratory system, nervous system, and digestive system (to name a few...).

In this masterclass we will look at the structures of the spine and what it's functions are, how it moves, and look at some common pathologies of this structure.

Recording will be sent to all registrants.
