About the event
Join Yoga Educator, Gillian Soder, and Yoga Therapist, Shari Arial, in this unique workshop exploring the anatomical and psychological importance of the psoas muscle. The psoas has been referred to as the "Messenger of the Midline" by Liz Koch due to its intimate connection to the "fight or flight" reflex, and its potential to "store" emotions.
This muscle plays a significant role in digestion, posture, Pelvic Floor dysfunctions, as well as back, hip and pelvic pain. Emotions, stress, trauma, habitual posture patterns and certain sports can contribute to instabilities in the psoas muscle.
In this workshop you will learn the anatomy, function, and role of the psoas muscle in your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Enjoy 90+ minutes of anatomy-informed instruction from Gillian, followed by 90+ minutes of trauma-informed practice with Shari. A short break will be provided between sessions.
Learning from 2 of the leaders in Yoga Education, this workshop is suitable for students and teachers alike.
