About the event
Join Gillian for an afternoon of functional exploration of your pelvic floor and its relationship to the rest of your body. Up to half of all women will experience pelvic floor incontinence at some point in their lives. The physical and emotional implications of this condition can be daunting.
In this workshop you will learn the basic anatomical features of the pelvic floor, potential causes for incontinence, and how our lifestyle choices and physical traumas can affect this part of your body.
We will meet on our mats to explore movement exercises proven to assist in the rehabilitation and maintenance of a healthy pelvic floor, including asanas and breathing techniques. Participants will leave with a handout providing guidance for further at-home practices.
Suitable for all women from pre-pregnancy to post-menopausal. Zero yoga experience required.
Come learn more about your body in a safe and supportive environment.
** Please note, this workshop is not intended to replace the work of a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist.
